Admission fee is $5.00 per person.  Doors open at 6:00 PM with the Wild Game Supper at 6:30 PM.
The meal has a wide variety of exotic wild game meats (prepared in some very special ways) which are assured to be pleasing to the taste.  There will be 500 pounds of deer sausage, buffalo chili, axis deer, white tail deer (donated by Suggs Ranch), black tail deer, elk (donated by The Corbett Ranch) and cajun fried turkey.  Other area hunter's and exotic ranch owners donate the remainder of the meat, and several volunteers in Big Lake clean the animals and prepare the foods.  Dinner comes with all the trimmings and it's all you can eat.

Reagan County's 13th Year
This year's raffle prizes include Two - 2007 Kawasaki  Four-Wheelers, more rifles and shotguns than ever before,  and special rifles just for kids.  The raffle (prize) tickets are priced at $1.00 each and drawings will be held throughout the night.  Thanks to the many local and area businesses who donate money to purchase these great prizes!
Come and enjoy good food, good fun, and great West Texas hospitality.  All proceeds go to benefit youth organizations in Reagan County.

At the 2006 Wild Game Supper, roughly 1,000 to 1,200 plates were served and there were about 40,000 of the $1.00 tickets sold on the night of the supper.  (And that does not include the raffle tickets that were sold in advance!) The money goes toward scholarships for the students of Reagan County as well as other youth organizations.  Those same youth groups always lend a helping hand to setup for the dinner and at the serving line as well.

It is always a fun time with all of the prizes and exhibits which may include the "Hall of Shame", an exhibit of poached animals, along with information such as "who did it" and "how much it cost them" in fines that were imposed.

This is truly an experience to be remembered.  The photos on this page illustrate a few examples of  the hands-on experience that the kids get ~ and ~ the fun they have while doing it.  And after all, our kids are what it's all about!  They share a fellowship with their peers and help raise money at the same time.  What more could you ask for?

The Board Members that are making it happen in 2007 are:

They work very hard as volunteers, to accomplish this Reagan County tradition.  Each year the board members are appointed by current or past Board Members and it requires working diligently for months in advance, just to pull it together.  There is also an advisory committee made up of home-town residents.
Reagan County is proud to have citizens such as these as neighbors and friends.

The very first Wild Game Supper was started by a small group of people in 1994, and it is an event that has grown with each passing year. Many of the local people look forward to it every year, as do some "regulars" from outside of Big Lake.  It is sure to continue as a tradition for our town since it's always a huge success.

Big Lake is among very few communities or organizations on a short list, who still actually provide wild game meats at a "wild game supper".  Many others have abandoned the meats but still hold events and call them Wild Game Suppers

We think this is what makes ours special and we hope you will too.  If you have never sampled the food - this year is the best time to start!
